FixMix Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-21 · Version alpha-1

1. The short version

FixMix changes how right-to-left text (such as Hebrew, Arabic and Persian) is displayed in AI chat apps and websites. It does not change the words.

FixMix works on your computer. The display correction happens on your device. Your conversations do not pass through FixMix's servers, and FixMix does not send them to us or to anyone else. The AI apps and websites you use handle your chats under their own terms and privacy policies.

You choose which apps and sites to connect, and when.

To run your account, we receive your name, your e-mail address, technical details about the app, and daily usage numbers. The usage numbers are counts only. They are listed per app and per website (the website's main domain, for example chatgpt.com) and are linked to your account (section 4.4).

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. The apps contain no third-party analytics tools and send no automatic error reports.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time: help@fixmix.app.

FixMix is in an invitation-only test stage (alpha). There are no paid plans at this time.

2. Who we are

FixMix is operated by Tsafrir Shmuel Or, a sole proprietor ("FixMix", "we", "us"). Contact: help@fixmix.app.

We are the controller of the personal data described here. This means we decide why and how it is used.

3. How FixMix works on your computer

FixMix has two parts:

  • FixMix for Windows (desktop app) corrects the right-to-left display in the AI desktop apps you connect. For each app it uses a display adapter made for that app.
  • FixMix RTL for Chrome (browser extension) does the same in chat areas you choose, on websites you choose. It needs the desktop app and a FixMix account.

While FixMix is switched on (RTL On) for an app or a site, it looks at the structure of what is on the screen. For example: which block is a paragraph, a list or a table, and in which direction it is written. It then sets the display direction. This happens on your computer, at the moment of display.

To do this, FixMix technically has access to what the chat window shows, including the text. It uses this only to set the display direction. FixMix does not save the chat text and does not send it to us.

3.1 What FixMix does and does not do

FixMix doesFixMix does not
Change the direction (right-to-left or left-to-right) and the alignment of text on your screen, only in the apps and sites you connect and switch on.Change the words. Click, type or send anything in the app. Store your conversations. Send your conversations to us or to anyone else. Change the app's installed files.

3.2 How the desktop app connects

Many AI desktop apps are built on the same technology as the Chrome browser. They include a local developer interface. FixMix for Windows connects through this interface to apply its display correction.

  • The interface is reachable only from inside your computer (address 127.0.0.1), not from the internet.
  • It is a standard capability of these apps. Any program on your computer could switch it on in the same way, so FixMix adds no new access from outside.
  • FixMix switches the interface on when it opens an app for you. If the app is already running without it, FixMix closes and reopens the app only after you press Confirm.
  • Before it connects, FixMix checks that the interface belongs to the right app. If it cannot confirm this, it does not connect.
  • FixMix's own code reads back only a technical map of the screen's structure and numbers. It does not read back message text, chat titles or links.
  • When you switch RTL Off, FixMix removes its display correction.
  • The interface itself stays available until the app fully closes. This is true even after RTL Off, and even after FixMix itself is closed or uninstalled. To close it, quit the app fully. For an app that keeps running in the Windows tray, quit it from the tray icon.

3.3 Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop works differently. FixMix does not switch anything on in Claude. You turn on the developer option yourself, in Claude's own menu: Help → Troubleshooting → Enable Developer Mode, then Developer → Enable Main Process Debugger. FixMix then connects to it from inside your computer (127.0.0.1). The debugger switches off when Claude fully quits. You can also turn it off in Claude's menu.

3.4 The Chrome extension

The Chrome extension does not use this developer interface. It does not ask for Chrome's "debugger" permission. It works only on sites where you click Connect.

3.5 Your choices

You choose which apps and sites to connect. FixMix helps you read the text correctly. Each app's and site's own terms continue to apply. We recommend keeping your computer protected with up-to-date antivirus software.

4. What we receive, and why

The law does not require you to give us this data. But without the account data below, we cannot give you a FixMix account, and FixMix will not run.

4.1 Your account

WhatWhyWhere it comes from
Your name (English letters, up to 80)To greet you and to know who writes to supportYou type it at sign-up
Your e-mail addressTo sign you in with a one-time code, and to write to you about your accountYou type it

Account status (for example: allowed, blocked, an access end date)To decide whether FixMix may run for youSet by us
Notes we write when we help youTo handle your support requestsWritten by us

Invitations. While FixMix is invitation-only, we keep a list of invited e-mail addresses, a short note, and the date the invitation was first used.

4.2 Signing in

One-time code. We e-mail you a 6-digit code. It is valid for 10 minutes and stops working after 5 wrong tries. On our server we keep only a protected (hashed) form of the code. We delete it automatically about one day after it expires. The e-mail itself, with the code, is also kept by our e-mail provider (section 7).

Session. After sign-in, your device receives a sign-in token. On our server we keep only a protected (hashed) form of it, with your device's random install number and an expiry date. A session lasts 30 days and is renewed while you use FixMix. Expired sessions are deleted automatically. Signing out deletes the token from your device and ends the session on our server. Signing out of the desktop app also ends the Chrome extension sessions that were linked through it.

4.3 Technical details about the app

Each time a FixMix app talks to our server, it sends:

  • which part is talking (desktop or Chrome), the FixMix version and the build number;
  • the interface language you chose;
  • a random install number. It is created on your computer the first time you run FixMix. It is not taken from your hardware and does not contain your name. Because it is linked to your account, we treat it as personal data.

We keep the latest version, language and build, the time you were last seen, and a list of your installs (first and last seen, version). Why: to tell you when an update is needed, to help you when something does not work, and to notice when an account is used in a way our terms do not allow (for example, passed on to other people).

4.4 Usage numbers

For each day, each app and each website where FixMix adjusted text, the apps send us these numbers, linked to your account:

  • how many paragraphs and similar blocks (lists, tables, table cells, text boxes) FixMix adjusted;
  • an estimate of how many of those blocks the app or site already showed right-to-left by itself;
  • in how many different minutes FixMix adjusted something ("active minutes").

Each row also carries a name for the app or site:

  • Desktop app: the name of the app connection, for example "Claude Desktop". If you built a connection yourself, this is the name you gave it.
  • Chrome extension: only the main domain of the website, for example chatgpt.com. The full address, the page path, sub-domains and the page title are removed on your computer first. Local and company-internal addresses are sent only as "local-address".

No text, titles, full addresses or anything you type is part of these numbers.

Why:

  • to show you your own usage (desktop and Chrome);
  • to calculate your usage fairly: apps and sites that already display right-to-left text correctly count less;
  • to see which apps and sites FixMix is used with, so we can keep it working with them.

There is no usage limit during the alpha. FixMix does not stop because of usage.

When: the apps send these numbers a few times a day (about every 6 hours), after sign-in, and when you close the desktop app. Usage is counted only while you are signed in. The Chrome extension counts only on sites where you connected a chat area, and not in Incognito windows.

The apps also keep usage numbers on your computer for up to 90 days, so they can be sent later if you were offline.

4.5 Linking the Chrome extension to the desktop app

The extension signs in through the desktop app. On your computer, the two exchange a short technical message: a request number, the install number, version, build, language and a one-time security value. You approve the link in the desktop app. Our server then records the link: the install numbers, versions, build and protected (hashed) security values. No page content is part of this exchange.

4.6 Update checks

The installed desktop app checks our download server (download.fixmix.app) for new versions, about every 4 hours. The request asks for the latest version file and, when there is an update, the installer. It contains no account data. Like any web request, it shows the server your network (IP) address, the time, and standard technical request details.

4.7 Messages you send us

If you write to help@fixmix.app, we receive your e-mail address and whatever you write or attach. The FixMix apps do not take screenshots. If you attach a screenshot, we receive it and use it only to answer you. A screenshot can show private chat content. Please cover private parts before you send it.

4.8 Security records

To stop abuse (for example, someone trying many codes), our server counts requests per e-mail address, network (IP) address, install and session, for short time windows (10 minutes to 1 day). These counters store only a protected (keyed-hash) form of those values, never the raw value. They are deleted after the window ends. We use your IP address only for this. Our providers may also keep short technical logs of requests (section 7).

5. What the FixMix apps do not send

  • The content of your chats: your prompts, the AI's answers, files you share in a chat.
  • Chat or page titles, full web addresses (URLs), chat numbers, window titles.
  • The text of web pages, and screenshots.
  • Your Windows user name, file paths, or other files on your computer.

The apps contain no third-party analytics tools, no advertising tools and no automatic error reporting. We do receive the usage numbers in section 4.4. Technical logs that help solve connection problems stay on your computer. Nothing from them is sent unless you choose to send it to us.

6. What stays on your computer

WhereWhat
Desktop app, in your Windows user folder (mainly %LOCALAPPDATA%\FixMix)The sign-in token and its expiry; the name and e-mail of the signed-in account; the last account status; the install number; after sign-out, your name and e-mail only if you ticked "remember me"; usage numbers per app (up to 90 days); the apps you connected and their settings; a short local log of start-up errors
Chrome extension storageThe sign-in token and its expiry; the name and e-mail of the signed-in account; the account status; the install number; usage numbers per site (up to 90 days); the sites you connected, and a technical description of the chat area you selected on each (not its text); a technical event log of up to 400 recent events (time, site name, event type), kept until you clear it or remove the extension; temporary data that Chrome erases when the browser closes

Your Windows account protects these files. In this alpha version, the sign-in token on your computer is not separately encrypted. Anyone who can use your Windows account could use it. Signing out removes it.

Uninstalling the desktop app does not delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\FixMix. You can delete that folder yourself. Removing the Chrome extension deletes its storage.

Building a connection for a new app (optional). If you use the "add a new app" tool, FixMix creates on your computer a structural description of that app's screen (without the chat words) and a question you may copy to an AI tool of your choice. We do not receive it. If you copy it to another AI tool, that tool's own terms apply. Check it before you share it: a structural description is not always anonymous.

7. Who handles data for us (service providers)

We share personal data only with providers that run FixMix for us:

ProviderWhat they do for usData they handleWhere
SupabaseOur server and databaseSections 4.1–4.5 and 4.8The database is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). Our server functions run on Supabase's network and may run in a data centre outside the EU.
ResendSends the sign-in code e-mails (from no-reply@send.fixmix.app)Your e-mail address, the e-mail content (including the code), delivery recordsResend stores this data in the USA. Resend states that it keeps e-mail content and logs for 30 days, plus backups for a short time.
HostingerOur website fixmix.app, the download and update server, and our support mailboxWebsite and download logs (such as IP address); e-mails you send usWebsite and download server: Frankfurt, Germany (EU).

There are no paid plans at this time, so we use no payment provider.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or when needed to protect users or our legal rights.

If FixMix is sold. If the FixMix business is sold or transferred, we will tell you before your data is transferred. Data received through the Chrome extension will be transferred only with your explicit consent given in advance. The buyer must keep to this policy. You can delete your account before the transfer.

8. Where your data is processed

Our database is in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).

Some processing can happen in other countries: Resend stores e-mail data in the USA; Supabase's server functions may run outside the EU; and our providers' own staff and sub-processors may work from other countries. Our providers offer data-processing terms with safeguards for transfers out of the EU, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We operate FixMix from outside the EU. When personal data is transferred to us or to our providers, we rely on the safeguards the law requires for such transfers.

9. How long we keep data

DataHow long
One-time sign-in codes (hashed, on our server)Deleted automatically about one day after they expire
Sign-in e-mails at Resend (including the code)About 30 days, then deleted by Resend (backups for a short time after)
Sessions30 days from last use, then deleted automatically
Sign-ups that never confirmed the codeDeleted automatically after 7 days
Abuse-prevention countersDeleted after their time window ends (10 minutes to 1 day)
Your account and install listWhile you use FixMix, and at most 24 months after your last use
Daily usage numbers linked to your accountAt most 13 months; after that we delete them or keep only monthly totals
Invitation listAt most 3 months after the invitation stage ends
Record of the notice you acceptedAs long as the account exists, and up to 7 years after, to show what you agreed to if there is a dispute
Support e-mailsAt most 24 months after the conversation ends
Records of ended device links (a hashed value and an install number, without your name or e-mail)Kept so that an ended link cannot be used again
Usage numbers on your computerUp to 90 days
Provider logs (Supabase, Hostinger)According to each provider's own settings

When you delete your account, we delete your account record and, with it, your sessions, installs, usage numbers and device links. Your devices can then no longer send numbers to that account. Some copies may stay for a limited time: the sign-in e-mails at Resend (about 30 days), provider backups and logs, support e-mails (until their period ends), the invitation list entry (until its period ends), and records that the law requires us to keep. Data on your own computer stays until you sign out, uninstall, or delete it (section 6).

10. Your rights

You may ask us to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy in a common format;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • object to, or limit, some uses;
  • withdraw your consent where we rely on it (this does not undo earlier use).

How: write to help@fixmix.app from your account's e-mail address. We may ask you to confirm it is you (for example, with a sign-in code). We answer within 30 days. Today, we delete accounts by hand on request; there is no "delete account" button in the apps yet.

You may also complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work, or to the authority that supervises us.

Legal grounds (for users in the EU and the UK):

  • Contract — to give you the account and service you asked for: account data, sign-in, technical details, and the usage numbers that show you your own usage.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep FixMix secure and prevent abuse (security records, install list), and to see which apps and sites FixMix is used with so we can keep it working (usage numbers). We consider these uses small and expected, and they do not include chat content. You may object to them at any time.
  • Consent — where we ask for it.

11. Age

You must be at least 18 years old to use FixMix. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will delete it.

12. The Chrome extension — specific disclosure

Permissions: storage (saves your settings), scripting and activeTab (apply FixMix's own display rules only on a site you chose), alarms (regular account checks and usage reports), and, only after you click Connect on a site, access to that site. The extension also uses nativeMessaging to talk to the FixMix desktop app on your computer.

What it does on your computer: on sites you connected, it reads the structure of the chat area you selected to set the text direction. It keeps your settings, the connected sites, usage numbers and a technical event log in Chrome's storage (section 6).

What it sends to our server, linked to your account: your session; the technical details in section 4.3; and, for each day and each connected site, the usage numbers with the site's main domain only (section 4.4). The account data (name and e-mail) is personally identifiable information.

What it never sends: page text, chat content, full addresses, page titles, or anything you type.

Before you link it: until the extension is linked to your FixMix account through the desktop app, it counts nothing and sends nothing to our server.

Limited Use. The use of information received through the FixMix Chrome extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This means:

  • We use this data only to provide and improve FixMix's single purpose: adjusting the right-to-left display of chats you choose.
  • We transfer it to others only when needed for that purpose, to comply with the law, to protect against malware, spam, fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets after your explicit prior consent.
  • We do not sell it. We do not transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers or other information resellers. We do not use it for personalised advertising, or to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
  • People do not read it, except: with your explicit consent for specific data; when it is aggregated and anonymised and used for internal operations; when needed for security (for example, investigating abuse); or to comply with the law.

13. Our website

Our website fixmix.app is hosted by Hostinger. Today it uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no scripts and no forms. Like any web server, Hostinger's server may log technical request details, such as your IP address and the time.

14. Security

  • All traffic between the apps and our server is encrypted (HTTPS).
  • Sign-in codes and session tokens are stored on our server only in protected (hashed) form.
  • The database refuses all direct public access; only our server functions can read it. No secret server key is shipped inside the apps.
  • The desktop app connects only inside your computer (127.0.0.1), checks the app's identity first, and applies one fixed set of display rules (section 3.2).

No system is perfectly secure. If a security breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change is important (for example, new data or a new use), we will tell you in the app or by e-mail before it takes effect, and ask for your agreement again where the law requires it. The date at the top shows the current version.
